Size: The smallest bird is the Bee Hummingbird measuring only 2 inches.

The largest bird is the Ostrich measuring up to 9 feet tall and weighing up to 350 lbs.

The bird with the largest wing span is the Wandering Albatross measuring almost 12 feet!

Habitat: Birds are found on every land mass and water body in the world. As a result of birds living on every continent the adaptations are very diverse, different bird species can look very different from each other. The most noticeable differences in bird species are size, the shape and length of the beak, the length of the legs, the length of the neck and the coloring.

Description: All living species of birds have wings.

Communication: All bird species make sounds to communicate. The types of sounds that birds make vary by species.
